The well-known educational institution Mount Barker Waldorf School provides students with complete educational development through its environmental protection initiatives. The school faced increased electricity expenses that impacted its financial resources because of its growing campus facilities which included additional energy-using buildings.

Mount Barker Waldorf School's leadership team needed to find an effective solution which would help them decrease the schools electricity expenses. The organization needed to establish sustainable practices which matched their environmental protection objectives. However, the limited capital budget made it difficult to establish renewable energy systems. This prompted the need for an efficient solution that provided solar energy without upfront cost.

The Challenge

The school required an affordable solution that would minimise financial risks while enabling its transition to renewable energy sources. The adoption of traditional solar installations faced obstacles. They needed major initial funding and required extended periods for approval.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Agile Energy has created and executed a custom solar PPA for schools,  enabling them to use no-cost solar for schools without any capital outlay. Under this program, they would have a completely installed solar energy system (overhead/in-ground) put on their premises. So, the school has to pay for its electrical usage from the solar energy system at a fixed, lower rate compared to typical grid power costs.
